I have loved swimming my whole life. I can’t remember a time that I wasn’t begging my parents to go into the pool or to join a team. I started competitively swimming when I was nine, but I didn’t join a club team until I was thirteen. Since then, I have always pushed myself to improve, never wanting to miss a single practice or workout. I am motivated to work hard in and out of the pool. During COVID, when swimming wasn’t an option, I started consistently weight training and running. During that time, I participated in a variety of races ranging from 5k up to completing a marathon when I was 16. I also like to push myself academically. I hold a 3.8 GPA, made the high honor roll, and am part of the National Honors Society. When I have a goal on my mind, I will continually work harder until I achieve it. I have learned to adapt and work through different challenges in and out of the pool, making me appreciate how much I love to swim. Although swimming can be considered an individual sport, I love the team aspect that comes with high school swimming. Being able to cheer on my teammates and being part of the team has always been my favorite aspect. I am a very goal-oriented and motivated person, and my coaches say that I am a very coachable athlete. I would truly appreciate the opportunity to continue to swim at the college level.
