Hi! My name is Rachel Patterson. I have been swimming for the past 10 years. I currently swim for the Blue Water Swim Club. I am committed to training and working hard. I have managed training daily for 2-4 hours, as well as, completing my work in AP classes, and maintaining a 4.5-grade point average. Through the challenging COVID-19 shut down and nowhere to swim, I have stayed committed to training. I have ran, as well as, done daily workout sessions. I am dedicated as a swimmer, student, as well as, a teammate. I am not afraid to work hard, learn, and am open to change.
I started in high school with a 1:11 time in the 100 backstroke. At our division meet that year, I dropped to a 1:10. Later that year I hit a 1:07 at a club meet, to qualify for Junior Olympics. After that time drop, I had a plateau season. I swam a 1:07 at our division meet to win and at JO's I finally dropped my time to a 1:06. Junior year was where I began to drop the most time. I swam a 1:05 at our first meet of the high school season and began training harder than I ever had before. I went into the finals of our championship meet in second place and ended up getting first with a time of 1:03.77. It was also at that meet that I swam a 58.22 in the 100 free. My goal for my senior year is to drop my time in the backstroke to a 1:01 and freestyle to a .56.
My goal is to continue training hard and swimming throughout my college career. I am dedicated and would be a good addition to your swim team and college.
