Swimming is my favorite sport and it has always been apart of my life .Ever since I have been in a pool or in the lake, I always wanted to be the best at the game we were playing. On my swim teams I have always wanted to come in first!
Every swimming season, I set a time to get and work hard to meet that goal. One of my biggest accomplishments started when I was a sophmore where I qualifed for state in the100 backstroke with a 1.05.76. From that point, I saw that I was close to the school record and I wanted it!
In my junior year, at conference, I finally broke the school record with a 1.02.01 in the 100 backstroke. At state, on the first day. I placed 10th. The second day I broke my own record with a 1.01.30 and placed eigth. My relay team also did well at conference amd competed at state. We were able to break the school record at state for the 200 medly relay and 400 freestyle relay. That day completed my junior year for the swim season and I was looking forward to break even more school and personal records.
I finished All Conference and All County this year. My main event is the 100y backstroke, but I also swim the 200y free, 100y fly, 50y free, 200y IM, and all relays. I was team captain during my junior year and will be again this year. I help my team with warm ups. I help other swimmers with their form and give them advice on pushing thru the pain and to finish strong .
One of my biggest helps is my Coach's advise. I always look to him to help me improve. I ask my coach how my form was, how I looked, and if I needed to change anything. I repect his advise and work on applying his suggestions. I work hard everyday at swim practice. I take every sprint and every drill as well and/or fast as I can go.
I have always dreamed of swimming in college since I can remember. I am open to any type of school that provides me with a great education and a competitive swim team. I want to graduate as an elementary teacher or child life specialist.
I also am very social and I am in many groups and clubs. National Honor Society, Wahoos, Green Team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Pals. I also am in my church youth group where I participate in serving in my church and at mission trips.
