2021 HighlightsPersonal Statement
Qualifying, and competing, at Speedo Sectionals is easily the highlight of my swimming career thus far. Starting at the age of eight, I have worked non-stop to achieve the goals I set for myself, both in and out of the pool. I have grown, and continue to grow, as a swimmer and person, when facing challenges like missing a time cut that I have worked at for years. I have learned that situations such as this provide resilience and determination, as one will not always achieve their goals that they set. In both academics and athletics, I have been taught that being the best doesn't come from being the smartest or fastest, but rising above everyone else in ways such as work ethic and attitude.
