My name is Alaina and I am currently a Junior at Simley High School in Minnesota. I started swimming in third grade when my friend persuaded me to join, and I quickly discovered my love for the water and that I had a talent for it as well. I was asked to join the varsity team in seventh grade and have been on the team ever since, I consider them my second family and have made all my friends from the team. I have received All Conference every year since my seventh grade season and have gone to sections every year as well. In my 2017 season I had my most successful season, as I broke two school records in the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard freestyle. In addition I became the first female swimmer from Simley to qualify for the state tournament in about 10 years. It was one of the best moments of my life so far. After high school it is my dream to pursue swimming in college and become apart of another team to become close to. I hope to improve my individual times as well as take part in relays as my favorite part about swimming is getting to compete with teammates on a relay. I hope to pursue a career in healthcare or writing and I consider myself to be very focused and driven when it comes to my grades.
