Emma Machado '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Emma Machado and I am now a senior at Alliance High School in Alliance, Nebraska. I am 17 years old and have been swimming competitively for 9 years. While my high school does not offer a swim team I do have the opportunity to swim with our local swim team for two months in the summer. In 2021, with the hope of having the opportunity to swim in college, I made the decision to join the Scottsbluff Swim Club. Twice a week, I travel an hour each way, to practice in Scottsbluff, NE. Despite only 2 hours a week in the pool, I competed in the Wyoming State Winter Short Course Championships during my first year.

Swimming has helped mold me into the person I am today. Through swimming, I have learned that life comes with ups and downs. Swimming has taught me to push harder for not only myself, but also my team and family. It makes me a better person, both mentally and physically. I have a competitive spirit that drives me both in and out of the water. I would love the opportunity to swim at the collegiate level and to be a role model for kids that dream of pursuing swimming.
