My name is Alaina Agnew, since I began swimming competitively at eight years old I knew that this was the sport for me. Swimming for club and high school has taught me how to be a great teammate and do whatever it takes to get the best end result as a team.
Being involved in my school is very important. As a high school student, combining swim, school, work, and other extracurricular activities has taught me how to balance a variety of commitments with my time. I have maintained a high GPA and intend to continue performing at a high academic level in college. I hold records for my high school and club swim teams. I am a steady team player, and I support my teammates while I stay driven individually. Throughout my many years of swimming, I have remained committed to the sport and have kept my eye on end results.
In college, I hope to bring big value to the team, and to help take us to the next level. A goal of mine is to set individual and relay records in college. I intend to continue to lower my best times from high school, and continue to improve each and every day in college. Continuing my swimming career in college will prove my dedication to this sport and help me overcome new obstacles, meet new people, and become a better swimmer.
