I started competing on a summer recreational team when I was five years old. When I was seven years old I joined a local YMHA team and swam full time with them until I was 12. At that time I joined Farmingdale Aquatics which was my first USA team. After two years on FA, I joined Islanders Aquatics and love the team. I also competed on the Deer Park Middle School swim team and this year I joined the Deer Park High School varsity team. I was an integral part of this team and as a Freshman, scored the most points on my team.
While swimming is my passion, school is very difficult for me. I spent the first 15 months of my life in a Russian Orphanage which unfortunately did not give me a good foundation for learning. I was diagnosed with ADHD and Dyslexia when I was six years old. I also have severe Esotrophia (vision problems). I have worked very hard to overcome these problems in school and despite my disabilities, have done quite well in my classes so far. Throughout middle school and my time in high school so far I have been on the honor roll for every semester.
I love swimming and spend as much of my free time in the water as possible. In addition to swimming competitively, I have done extensive volunteer work in the pool with small children and special needs children. I am also part of the Jones Beach Junior Lifeguard program during the summer.
My dreams are and always have been to swim in college. I hope to achieve these goals in the not too distant future.
