Awards and Activities

AwardsI am in National, Rho Kappa, Science, Math, English, and Language honor societies. I have been the recipient of the social studies departmental award 4 years in a row, the technology education departmental award once, the language departmental award twice, and the English language arts departmental award twice. The departmental award is given to the top two students in the grade in every class subject at my high school. Additionally, I am a designated AP scholar by The College Board and have received the Nassau Zone physical education award.
ActivitiesIn school, I am involved in six honor societies and four extracurricular activities. I am a fundraiser for the social studies department's annual Honor Flights Donation. I organize bake and apparel sales for my school in order to help increase our monetary donation to the charity. I volunteer my time fundraising and running my school's annual Spartan Mini - Thon - a six-hour dance event to raise money for pediatric cancer. I am a member of the Interact Club a philanthropy club at my school and the Ecology Club, a club devoted to advocating for the environment. Outside of school, I volunteer my time tutoring underclassmen in my neighborhood and I am a swim instructor at Long Island Swim School.
