I have been swimming competitively since second grade. I swim for Long Island Express and have swam for my schools Varsity team since 8th grade. I am currently a Junior and so far during my Varsity career , I hold 4 varsity school records ( 100 backstroke, 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, and 400 free relay). I broke the 400 freestyle relay twice once in 8th grade and then again in 11th grade. This past season I was awarded the title of captain for my Varsity team. I have been a NYSPHSAA qualifier for the past 2 years. Unfortunately over the summer of 2019 I broke my ankle which set me back a bit, not swimming for 4 months straight. Entering my Varsity season was rough but I was motivated to reach my goal which was to make states at the end of the season. I started off the season with not swimming in the first 3 meets and barely being able to make it through the whole practice without pain, but nothing stopped me. I ended my season with making states in the 400 free relay with my amazing teammates and sadly just missed the individual 100 back cut by .04 seconds. I am healed and on the mend . My comeback from my injury shows my dedication and perseverance to the sport. I know I would be an asset to your team!
