For my college experience, I am looking forward to testing my limits with personal growth with an advanced degree in math and science and in the swimming pool. My ultimate goal is to be a leadership role using my skills to help in the field of engineering and advanced technology in a way that will make the world a better place.
My strongest attribute is that I work hard, am eager to help teammates, and I have a drive to win. I have been a three sport athlete until my junior year, when my passion for swim grew stronger. I was disappointed with the times as I was hoping to break school records and hit personal best times. So, in order to achieve these goals, I realized I had to make it happen myself. So, I sacrificed playing other sports to dedicate my time for swimming. This year I had three school records in the 100 free, Medley relay and 400 free relay. I went undefeated in all my individual events for my league. I was the league champion in the 50 free, 100 free, and 400 free relay. Placed 3rd in the 100 and 200 free in section VI in New York State. I am very dedicated to advancing my swim times and feel that I have not peaked but quite the contrary, I have only just begun. I love the feel of swimming and pushing myself to achieve greater success.
As Captain this year, I led by example. I am quiet, a good listener, and easy-going. I tend to stay focused on my workouts, drills and meets. I am good at redirecting efforts of others towards our success in the pool. Being a multi-sport athlete, I can work in a team setting.
With a 4.0 / 4.0 gpa, I work hard to achieve my academic success. I have learned to study and organize my school work. Being committed to sports and seeing my friends, I have had to be very organized and exert time management skills, so I could keep up with the demands of Honor classes as well as having swim club every night. I feel I am equipped to handle the demands of a college sport while maintaining academic success.
