My name is Martha Tripsa, I was born in Romania and immigrated to America with my family when I was very young. I learned to swim when I was 6 years old and swam recreationally with a YMCA team up until I joined Sailfish Aquatics late 2016. It has always been a dream of mine to swim for a college, however, I never thought I stood a chance until I started swimming for Sailfish 2 years ago. Surrounded by such a good team environment, an exceptional coach and supporting parents, I improved my times and am starting to progress towards my long-term goal of swimming for college. Swimming has taught me the value of hard work, in and out of the pool. I am very diligent with my school work and hold myself to very high standards when it comes to my education. By immigrating to America, my parents gave me the opportunity to an education and future that they never had, which I am extraordinarily grateful for. I plan on taking the most I can from this opportunity and working hard and diligently to achieve my goals.
