Personal Statement

I have been swimming competitively since I was nine years old. There have been alot of ups and downs in my swimming career but I have worked hard to get through them and get to where I am today.  My goal is to continue swimming after high school.

I competed at my first National meet in 2018, and continue to work hard in moving up on the charts.  I just returned from my first International meet in Dublin, Ireland where I swam in the Irish Summer Nationals, bring home 3 bronze and a silver.   I am known to be a leader on my swim team and have won our leadership award 2 out of the past 3 years.  While I feel that I am a very coach-able swimmer, and work hard, I know there is always room for improvement. I currently swim 9 times a week with both morning and afternoon practices, I also have gym, yoga and cross-fit sessions in the mix.  I find that this level of training helps me stay focused and ultimately reach my end goal.

Outside of the pool, my hard work and dedication does not stop.  I attend Mayfield Secondary School in Caledon, Ontario where I am enrolled in the Regional Arts Program.  This program will allow me to not only graduate with my standard ODSS Academic Diploma, I will also receive a Regional Art Diploma and School Letter.  I study hard and maintain a high GPA. In my spare time I volunteer with a number of organizations from Swim Lessons, Mud Runs, Hockey Camps and many other community events.  In 2018 I started my own business teaching swimming lessons this is an amazing opportunity for me to teach what I have learned, I have a few swimmers that I have taught that have moved on to the Competitive world. I feel that you need to represent the community to you live in and support it in a variety of ways.

I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom as well as in the pool. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition both in the pool and academically. I hope to become a great role model for all my peers and make my parents proud.
