I started swimming competitively for the Corvallis Aquatic Team after watching the 2016 Olympics. Watching Olympic swimmers like Katie Ledecky and Jacob Pebley (who swam for the same club I swim for) inspired me to want to swim. I like swimming because I enjoy the team atmosphere and racing other competitive swimmers. Distance free events are my favorite events to swim, but I also do well in the longer distance IM and fly events.
In school, my favorite classes are anatomy and physiology, US history, and global studies. I challenge myself by taking many honors and Advanced Placement courses. I continue to work hard in the classroom to maintain a high GPA.
When not swimming or studying, I like to travel, bake, and play games with my family. I am also an athlete representative for my swim club. Being an athlete representative, I help plan fundraising events and other team activities for swimmers in the club. In college, I want to challenge myself in the classroom and in the pool to become a better athlete and citizen so that I can make a positive impact at my college or university and in society.
