Personal Statement

I have always enjoyed competing in many different sports, but swimming has been my primary passion for many years.  I began focusing exclusively on swimming full-time in 2021.  Since that time, I have been privileged to have the opportunity to compete in many high level meets including the Speedo Winter Junior Championships, Futures Championships, Senior Zones, and Sectionals meets.  These experiences have left me with the desire to accomplish more and to compete at the highest level possible.

Currently my primary swimming goal is to achieve an Olympic Trials cut in the 200 and 100 breaststrokes along with improving my other events including the 200IM and freestyle events.  I am looking for a college program that will help me achieve my personal goals and that also has a strong team culture and tradition.  I would love to be a leader on a team that is striving for greatness at the championship meets.

On my team, I am known for my high level of commitment to swimming and for encouraging my teammates to be their very best.  I have a very positive attitude and I am easy to talk to amongst my peers.  I am also very coachable and I actively seek out feedback and advice from my coaches to try to improve as much as possible.

Academically, I am an excellent student and strive to challenge myself in the classroom with mostly Honors and AP courses.  At this point, I would like to pursue a major in college that will prepare me to pursue a career in sports medicine.

I also enjoy doing many volunteer activities to give back to my community.  Last year, I received the Bronze Presidential Volunteer Award.  Along these lines, I have really enjoyed teaching swim lessons to younger children because swimming has been such a wonderful part of my life and I want to encourage other young people to pursue swimming also.  I would love to coach swimming in the future as well.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
