My name is Anjuli Srivastava. I am currently a senior at Plano Senior High School. I’ve been a passionate swimmer since even before I could walk. I started in learn-to-swims and paddled up the ranks into summer leagues. My parents saw the fervor of my younger self who yearned for more time in the water. They signed me up for the big leagues: Club swimming. From then on I remained one with the water. I strived to be the best. My love for swimming reached a new level when I joined high school swimming. In high school I wanted to be the best in and out of the water as I found an identity as a student-athlete. I was able to share this connection with my coach and teammates. As Captain I want to be a role model for all the incoming stdents. I understand the importance of leading by example. I excel when challenged, as I am very goal oriented. I like to work together with my coaches to ensure success. I am a Backstroker with a time of 1:02.24 in the 100 yard, and a 59.4 in the 100 yard freestyle. Swimming has molded me into a disciplined student, and I want to continue my career where I can utilize these skills I have gained on my journey. I’ve learned how to use my time wisely and discipline myself to reach all my goals. I have been an active member of my schools activities and club organizations like Hosa, National Honor Society, and Caring Cats, because I strongly believe in building a strong community through volunteering. I want to pursue an education in Biological Sciences so that I may enter the field of medicine. I would like to continue swimming in college and reach higher levels.
