Poet DeBoom '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Poet DeBoom, and I am a senior at Lake Washington H.S. in Kirkland, WA. As I enter my senior year of H.S. focused on accomplishing the academic and athletic goals I have set for myself, I can’t help but turn one eye towards my future and college. Over the past 3 years of school, I have grown from a summer rec-league swimmer into a year round club team member and High School Co-Captain. While I feel as though I have made great strides as a swimmer, I know that because of my late start in the sport, I still have a lot more to give. Additionally, I have always prided myself as not only a leader on the swim team, but also a leader in the classroom. I take academics very seriously and I am excited to attend a university that not only challenges me in the pool, but also academically.  I am hoping to join a program with like-minded individuals – academically driven with a powerful work ethic, competitive and strong school spirit. I know that if given the opportunity, with my strengths of dedication, persistence, time-management and goal-setting, I can become a key member of any program.
