Melanie Markovic '17 Recruiting Profile

Hello! 

My name is Melanie Markovic. I am currently a junior at Tracy High School CA, I am 16 years old and I will graduate in 2017. I would like to introduce myself and tell you about my passion for tennis! I have been playing tennis for 11 years and it has always been something that I have loved. I am very passionate about it and always have been. I started playing USTA junior tournaments when I was around 8 years old. It was a new experience and I absolutely enjoy the thrill of competition. My dad is my coach, he has taught me everything I know. He understands my abilities and always pushes me to be the best that I can. Since I started playing tournaments, I have made plenty of progress. So far, I have 33 trophies that I'm very proud of. 

I have played tennis for my high school since freshman year, having made varsity and being number 1 all three years. I am very passionate about tennis, which makes me a great asset for any team. I am different because I don't think of it as just a sport, I see it as something I love and want to enjoy. I am very competitive, but I also try to make it fun. Managing school and tennis is sometimes a challenge, but it's worth it. There is always room for improvement and I am open to new ideas and suggestions. I believe in myself and always give it my all.

To be able to play the sport that I love in college would be a privilege. I look forward to contributing to a team and developing my skills further. A team is a family and I am excited about joining a new one.
