My name is Alessia Franco, I am a rising senior from Miami, Florida. I come from a family of devoted tennis players, including my father and uncle, who both left their home in Lima, Peru, to play Division 1 tennis at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. Inspired by their journey, I discovered my own love for the sport at age 8 after transitioning from competitive gymnastics.
Since then, tennis has become my passion. Over the past couple of years, I’ve had the opportunity to compete in several ITF tournaments, earning doubles titles at the J60 in Kingston, Jamaica, and the J30 in Lima, Peru, as well as reaching the finals of the J30 in Barranquilla, Colombia. I’ve also helped lead two high school teams to consecutive Florida state championship titles.
Academically, I have challenged myself with a rigorous course load of honors and AP classes, maintaining a strong GPA in preparation for a pre-med track in college. My passion for health and science stems from a deep desire to be part of a growing movement in healthcare—one that emphasizes preventive care, healthy living, and stress management as foundation to well-being.
Outside the classroom and off the tennis court, I enjoy learning languages and exploring new cultures. I am fluent in English, Spanish, and French, which has helped me while travelling throughout Europe and Latin America. These interests have not only enriched my personal growth but also helped me connect with athletes from around the world, building meaningful relationships across diverse backgrounds.
My current UTR is 7.5 (Singles) and 8 (Doubles), and I am ranked 995 on the Junior ITF Tour. While these rankings may not fully reflect my potential, I am a coachable, motivated, and resilient student-athlete with a strong work ethic. My goal is to join a highly competitive tennis program where I can contribute to the team’s success while fostering a positive and supportive team culture. I pride myself on being a strong competitor, a dedicated teammate, and someone who gives 100% on and off the court
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me! I welcome the opportunity to share more about my experiences and how I can positively impact your team, both on and off the court.
