Sammi Hornbarger '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a 4.0 student and a member of the National Honor Society. I am a very hard working, dedicated team player. I am the captain of my high school team. I do everything I can to keep each of the players on the team positive and confident. I won the Missouri Valley Sportsmanship Award in 2009 and have always been known to be a good sport on the court. I am a very fair but competitive player. I have been playing Missouri Valley tennis tournaments since I was ten. I am used to tough competition. I've wanted to play college tennis ever since I was young because I feel that being on a team is more enjoyable and rewarding than playing as an individual. I played number one singles and doubles for my high school team this year as a Senior and also as a junior. Sometimes I played number 1 singles as a freshman and sophomore. My high school team won State this year and leading the team to a State Championship was more fulfilling than my individual State title. It's most important to me to be able to play as a freshman and have an impact as a team member than to go to any particular school. I am interested in studying business, communications or pre-law. I always try to do my best and have a smile on my face while doing it.
