As my senior year is coming to close, I look back and see how much I’ve accomplished to get where I am today. Through the years of grade school and early middle school my parents discovered an eye doctor that completely changed my outlook on everything. I had the hardest time with academics and personal challenges that all shaped me as I worked hard through middle school into high school.
For me growing up and struggling as hard as I did with my academics, I would love to help children find the same type of results that I found through eye therapy as an eye therapist. As a young child I’ve known what it’s like to struggle and what it takes to better yourself. My college goals are to major in Family Studies and Consumer Sciences so when I graduate, I can take advantage of a possible job offer with Dr. Riley as he trains me in the field. While I work on getting my basics, I would love to fulfill my dreams and playing college tennis.
Going into my 7th grade year was when I found Tennis. All my friends would always talk about how much fun it was to play and so, I thought why not give it a shot. I went out on a Thursday night for a late-night practice and my coach asked me if I would already be interested in playing in a tournament that Saturday. Ever since that night, I never thought how much tennis would really impact me. As a tennis player, you will learn very quickly that you need a strong mental game. The game has taught me to never give up on yourself and to never underestimate the person on the other side of the net. This Is a skill that I will forever go by.
