Charlize Ostapowich '23 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a grade 10 student at Strathcona High School in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.  I am extremely motivated to attend a Div 1 University in the United States and continue to grow and develop as an athlete.  Sports has always played a crucial role in my life and I would love to have an opportunity to represent my school and benefit from the excellent teaching and competition that is available in a larger track community.   I am well rounded student who would be a benefit to any university as I have a strong work ethic and internal drive.  I was selected to the Alberta Provincial Track Team to compete in both Nationals (Legions Track and Field Meet) and the Tri-Provincial Track Meet last season which allowed me to experience a higher level of competition and has enhanced my competitiveness and motivation to be the best I can be.  

I am an honour role student who has learned strong time management skills as I have been able to attain straight A's while competing competitively in multiple sports.  Through my eleven years of gymnastics, I have learned the importance of being a team player and that you have to put the time and effort in if you are going to excel at any event.  Even though Covid has cancelled the 2020 track season, I have been training hard every day to come back stronger and fitter when competition finally resumes.  I look forward to discuss my track future with you.
