Hello, my name is Alexandra Candito and I am in my junior year at Sabino High School participating in track&field. I started running track my 8th grade year at Gridley Middle School and learned just how much I love to compete in a sport where I drive my own success while being surrounded by a team. Before track I played softball my whole life and that allowed me to learn team skills but I wanted to have more control of the outcome at the end of the day. It was always fun being the fastest on the softball team which is why I decided to start track when I did.
My primary events are the 400m, 4x400m, and I also do the 200m, 100m, 4x100m, and am learning the 300m hurdles currently. I am passionate about nutrition and working out on my own outside of track as well, that way I know I am doing everything I can to set myself up for success.
Academics are important in my family so I hold myself to getting high grades and never slacking in the classroom. I am very self driven to keep straight A's and continue to raise my 4.167 GPA with future AP classes. I would like to be an anesthesiologist, so I understand just how important trying your best and being exact is, which I apply to all aspects of my life. My view is that success in academics is just as important if not more important than success on the track.
With that I am excited to see where track&field can take me and all the amazing experiences that come with it.
