My name is Aislin Rose Martinez-Pompa I’m a Junior at Cienega High School in Vail, AZ. I play multiple sports however my main focus is Track and Field and more specifically the javelin event. I have been doing track for just about 9 years starting off with running events and then merging with them with javelin , I have been throwing for 7 years and have gained a love and a passion for the event.
Once high school started my drive grew even more, Freshman year I qualified for the Arizona State Championships at my first invitational and broke a school record , however due to Covid I was never truly able to see it through. During the Covid lockdown I took the time to train and work on my technique and came back Sophomore year with a state title and a throw of 130.6ft and a improvement of 19ft further than the previous year.
This lead into my club season there I was selected for the Nike National High School Invitational at Hayward field , and the USATF Junior Olympic Nationals in Florida. With more training, patience, and a positive mindset I hope to conquer my PR again this Junior year.
After high school I wish to continue on my athletic path into the next level and also my education. I desire to pursue premed and a degree in medicine. This has been a dream of mine since I could remember. The dream for college is a solid medical program and a solid throws program , this would make my dreams a reality.
