Being apart of an unexpected state bound cross country team, my freshman year, started my high school experience off at a very focused and exciting pace. Finding running in high school opened up so many experiences, and friendships; it unexpectedly became something that I truly love and now will love forever. Being a student-athlete has always pushed me to prioritize the things I hold important in high school: my academics, family, friends, and happiness. As I reflect, I begin to realize that it is through the relationships that I have made while running that I share the most laughs and the fondest memories with. Both my cross-country and track teams have taught me the value of a strong team bond and it is something that I wish to instill in my team this year as their team captain and something that I am looking for in whatever college or university I end up attending.
My parents and little brother have also been a huge part of my life: growing up and overall being the best cheer squad anyone could ever ask for, and because of this I do plan on staying on the west coast for school. The idea of being on a collegiate team in college is so very exciting and I know I have the determination to see it through!
