For my whole life, I have been an athlete. I grew up within the competitive environment of gymnastics, before switching to track following the pandemic. I love every aspect of track; I love pushing myself past my limits everyday in practice, and I love seeing that hard work pay off in competition. I am a dedicated and disciplined athlete, and I take pride in being the hardest worker in the room. To me, that means grinding through workouts on good days and bad days, giving full effort in every aspect of the sport, and putting in extra time and practice on my own. These habits have allowed me to rapidly improve within the last few years; from my freshman year to sophomore year, I improved my long jump by 2 feet, triple jump by 2.5 feet, 100H by 2 seconds, and 300H by 4 seconds. I am confident that I will continue improving throughout high school and will excel in the even more rigorous collegiate environment. I consider myself to be very versatile as well; I have competed in 3 years of varsity cross country with a 5k PR of 21:40, as well as many other events such as triathlon. My body is used to a high volume of training, and I think this would translate well to becoming multi/heptathlete in college, as I am a quick learner, can compete well while fatigued, and am both mentally and physically strong. I apply these traits to other areas of my life as well. I also hold myself to a high standard of academic success, and this has allowed me to maintain a 4.33 weighted/4.0 unweighted GPA and a class rank of 1/655. This year, I am enrolled in AP Biology, AP Language and Composition, AP US History, Honors Chemistry, Honors Integrated Math 3, and Art 1/2. I plan on studying biology or animal science in college before attending graduate school to earn my veterinary degree. Thank you so much for your time and I hope to hear from you soon!
