I joined track for the first time during my freshman year and started out barely making the team. However, through hard work, dedication, and time management I eventually grew to lead the team by my sophomore year. My passion for running and my team pushed me to join cross country and participate in the junior olympics as well during my sophomore year. I always value the team overall and my coaches instilled in me the strong belief that the team comes first. Handling sports and academics proved to press a strong challenge especially with the difficulty of the level of the classes I was taking. However, each year I worked to become a stronger athlete and a better student in the classroom. That attitude is what I believe makes me to be a good candidate for the team because by setting my expectations high I always strive for something greater.
