My name is Rachael Fernandez and I am currently a senior at Tracy High School. I started running track as a freshman and was offered the opportunity to run at the varsity level. I agreed to challenge myself and accept the opportunity. As a sophomore, I earned the Captain Star as well.
I run the 100m, 200m, 4x1m, and 4x4m. I am a team player and I act as a role model for my team. I bring great attitude and a positive mindset and I am very coachable and easy to work with. I am a leader and I try to lead by example for others.
Starting at 10 years old, I played recreational soccer and moved up to competitive when I was about 13. However, when I started running track for the first time I pursued it enough to want to move forward at the collegiate level. I am looking for a four year university to settle down at but also keeping my options open.
I hold good grades and keep my GPA up as school is just as important to me. I also do volunteer work for my community and stay involved. My goal is to exceed in track and better my times for the future. I will do anything it takes to become a better athlete and make my coaches and parents proud.
