My name Alexis Holmes, and I am going into my senior year at Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Running has always been vital aspect of my life; the sport of running has made me the mentally and physically strong person that I am today. I developed a passion for running when I was six years old, and I have continued to love it ever since. Throughout middle school and into high school, I have earned various awards and recognitions for my running performances. Freshmen and sophomore year, I earned varsity letters in both cross country and track. In cross country, I helped lead the team to a third place state finish. In track, I was on the sixth place state team in the 4x800m freshmen year and the state winning 4x400m team sophomore year. Additionally, my 4x400m team broke the school record several times throughout the season. Having the opportunity to run at the state championships four times has empowered my desire for improvement and enhanced my work ethic. I always strive to feel the fulfillment that comes with seeing my times get faster each race. Since I was young, my ultimate goal has always been to continue running in college, and as a result, I will do whatever I can to make my dream a reality.
