My name is Ella Maas, I attend Newsome High School and graduate in the Spring of 2024. I’m highly driven and perform well under pressure. I’m great at managing stress and being busy. I strive to maintain a positive environment and love to help build a welcoming community. I’m extremely passionate about Track and I love the diversity and sense of community it has. I started my Track career in 2021 and fell in love with it since and haven’t stopped training for it. My freshman year I went into this sport not thinking much of it, I thought I would try it out and see how I like it, as I went through my team’s pre-conditioning I bonded with my teammates and coaches and knew this was the sport for me. Only a week into my first official season I got a stress fracture on my left tibia and was confined to a boot for a whole month and my heart shattered, I just started to love this sport and it was immediately taken away from me, from then on I vowed to push myself to my limits and looked forward to my sophomore season where I found my love for the hurdles. My sophomore season I was able to continually P.R. and I ran the 300m Hurdles for my first time at our districts meet in April, unfortunately I didn’t qualify regionals by a fraction of a second but I knew from then on I would be committed to improving my hurdles for my junior season, and I even was awarded the “Most Imporved Athlete Award” for the Girl’s Track Team. I always set personal goals each season and I’ve managed to supersede them. I stick through any hard excercise or workout thrown at me at practices and am open to trying new events.
