My name is Alexandra Nicholas and I aspire to run track and field at the collegiate level. I have not had much formal training in my primary events, but I am a very hard worker who tries to be the best at whatever I do, and I want to learn as much as I can to perform at my absolute best. Prior to running track, I was a gymnast for ten years. Because of my speed and leg strength, I was especially good at vault and floor. At the end of middle school, I decided to switch my focus to track and field. I started with sprinting but also began focusing on jumping when I entered high school. I just began hurdling in the beginning of this year and I am hoping to run some good times in the 100h. I am a team leader who is always encouraging and supporting my teammates in any way I can. Not only do I work hard athletically, I work hard in the classroom. Academics are extremely important to me, and I have consistently been in the Principal’s Honor Roll and I am in several Honor Societies. Because success in the classroom and out on the track are equally important to me, I have adapted to the life of a student athlete, creating a balance between a heavy academic workload and hard, lengthy practices. I believe I am a coachable athlete that is constantly striving to improve and be the best I can be. And I promise to work my hardest to do great things.
