Hello, I am Kadence Collora! My first year participating in track was my freshman year of high school, which was sadly cut short due to COVID after only two meets. This made my sophomore year my first full year participating in track. With my sophomore year being my first full season I was able to make vast improvements in my ability to run and my desire to get better. I qualified and competed in the Florida State Championship meet in both my sophomore and junior years. Within my sophomore season I was the Pinellas County 400m champion. For my junior season I competed in both the 4x400 and 4x800 at the State Championship meet. Our relay team broke the school record in the 4x400 and placed 7th in the 4x800. Due to the fact that I have very recently begun to run competitively, I believe that I have a lot of room to improve my times further than where they are today. In terms of my collegiate goals, I wish to be part of a team that allows me to enjoy running as I participate throughout college. I aspire to continue my athletic journey within the four years following the end of my high school career, as track is something that I look forward to each and everyday. I hope that my participation in track at the college level will assist me in continuing to grow traits such as determination and the ability to lead my peers. As I entered my senior year, I was also running with our cross county team.
I was invited to join and recently became a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. As a senior in high school, I currently have an unweighted GPA of 4.0 and a weighted GPA of 4.62. I am currently ranked 7/551 students. I am a prevalent leader within my high school which currently has 2,361 students. I have recently been chosen by teachers to be the president of the National Honors Society during my senior year. It is the largest club within my school, composed of the highest achieving students. In addition, I am the academic team co-captain, student government board vice president, vice president of the schools spirit club - blue crue, and lastly team captain of the girls track team. Outside of school I am a member of the YMCA Leader’s Club. I am interested in a pre-medical program when I attend college.
I look forward to completing high school next year and continuing my athletic and academic journey in college.
