Sports allow me to thrive. I have competed at an exclusive level for both gymnastics and track. During my sophomore year of high school, I made the decision to fully dedicate my time, energy, and confidence to track and field, after splitting myself between both Level 7 gymnastics and high school track and field for a few months.
After my first year of high jump, my PR was 5'2". I first joined Johns Creek High School track and field my sophomore year. After competing at only eight meets, I made state for high jump in my first year. Competing at regionals, sectionals, and state ingrained confidence in myself that still drives me train for new heights. Now in my junior year, I have matched my PR of 5'2" multiple times. Currently, I work with my coach on aspects of my jump to fulfill my potential as a high jumper. I believe that with efficient training and faith in myself, I can attain new heights this season.
Having gone through many coaches while competing gymnastics and track and field, I have become a flexible, coachable athlete. I utilize techniques that have been accumulated from past coaches; however, my main focus rests in my current coach's trainings. Being a student athlete has allowed me to successfully appropriate time to accomplish various tasks. While training for state in 2022, I balanced the preparations to compete at state for high jump and to achieve the top score on my AP exams. All throughout track and field season, I hold multiple leadership positions at my high school, am inducted in National Honors Society, National English Honors Society, Spanish Honors Society, and Beta, and am enrolled in three Honors courses and three AP courses. Lastly, I believe highly in the success of my team and always encourage the best work from my teammates. To fulfill my potential, I utilize three aspects of success: a driven mindset, structured training, and a clear direction.
