Track & field has had the most influence on my life, even though many things I went through in high school impacted who I am today. I've gained a lot of knowledge, including how to operate as a team, be disciplined, and handle failure. Track has been the foundation of everything I've done in my life. It has taught me how to keep going in the face of challenges, push through discomfort even when you think it's over, and take ownership of my own actions. It has altered my life and given me the skills I need to survive in the outside world.
I discovered that failing was not necessarily a bad thing. It provided me with a lesson and highlighted my areas for growth. I discovered that I couldn't improve unless I applied myself. The idea of letting my coach, parents, or teammates down motivated me to strive harder toward my goals. Success in what I did taught me that I could achieve my goals with hard work, but only with hard work. Nothing has ever been simple, and nothing ever will be. The society in which we live is the same. Without failure and success, life wouldn't be what it is today, no one would accomplish anything, and there would be no drive or ambition. Track did an excellent job of preparing me for life in the real world, in my opinion. I developed my interpersonal skills in track. I'll keep in touch with the friends I made in track in the future. Along with the ability to establish these connections, I created a network of people that I can use in the future to my advantage in addition to creating a family.
