Hi my name is Novalee, my graduating year is 2024. I grew up with a single mother in the military, because of this I have moved over 10 times, living multiple places from the Western, Eastern, and Southern coast, and currently live in Oahu, Hawaii. I have had to persevere and overcome many changes in settings and many different communities and people. This also made it very difficult for me to stay in sports for long periods of time. Now that I'm able to, I do everything I can to excel in it. I'm a strong believer that hard work beats natural talent, and although I am new to running I am willing to put in the hard work and have the discipline to get where I need to be as I always have. I am a fully rounded student-athlete, along with sports I also excel in academics and arts. I qualified and am a member of The National Society of High School Scholars and have been in the Gifted and Talented program since the 6th grade, achieving A Honor Roll throughout elementary, middle and high school. In addition, I was accepted into Berkeley Center of the Arts (BCA) for both Creative Writing and Visual Arts and was in the Creative Writing program for 2 years before moving to Oahu. My writing has been shown on the Berkeley Country webpage and I have earned a Silver Key and honorable mentions in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. I‘ve also had experience as a Private first class in JROTC and I am very active in my school's community, clubs, and activities. I am a part of Key Club at my school and was accepted into Alaka'i, a competitive club used to welcome new students to our school and assure they settle in well.
