Gianna Sbarbaro '19 Recruiting Profile

     Although I have been blessed to have grown up in one of the most beautiful places in the country, I am looking forward to the opportunity to continue my education and the next chapter of my life in college. I am excited to spread my wings in a larger community of students and educators and see what another area of the country has to offer. In Hawaii, I go to a smaller IB, private school. The program is very rigorous, but I have enjoyed the challenges of school and the great friends I have made here, through Sports (Cross Country, Soccer, Track and Equestrian) and extra-curricular clubs such as Polynesian Club, National Honor Society and as a school ambassador. As for my love of sports, one could not ask for more beautiful scenery to run in than in Hawaii. As someone who loves running, the tropical trails here beckon me to get out and blow some steam after a challenging day at school.  A rigorous hike or a steep run, or a surfing session with friends is always a great way to end the day.  

     My personality is silly and serious at times and I think that my teammates and coaches would consider me a hard worker that is very determined and focused. I love to have fun, but I also will put in the work to get the results. I always try to encourage my teammates, and support them thru the struggles competitive sports. In college, I hope to take advantage of Internships, travel abroad programs and school clubs.
