When track and field was first offered to me in 7th grade, I told my cross country coach "I want to try that throwing thing." When the track season finally came, I immediately fell in love with the event. Through the years, many of the people who came to those initial throwing practices no longer had an interest in it. However; i was determined and stuck with it. In my sophomore year I made it to state in shot put after winning 1st place at our district meet. My coach then urged me to go to a camp called Ironwood. Ironwood was an amazing learning experience for me and made me realize that I don't want my throwing career to be over by the end of highschool.
I want to continue competeing in the college level and meet new people who share the same love for the sport. I want to work hard in the sport I love while working towards an education in veterinary science which is a career I will love. Throwing provided hope for me and my future and I look forward to seeing how far I can go with it.
