Personal Statement

Hi! My name is Kaci McKnight and I am currently a junior at Byron High school located in Byron, Illinois.  Although I am very disappointed that my sophomore track season got cut very short, I am so grateful that I can still continue to train and condition outside and inside my favorite crossfit gyms.  I am currently in cross country to better my endurance and to stay in shape for track season.  I've always had a burning passion for track & Field.  As soon as I stepped onto the track at my first 6th grade practice, I knew at that moment, this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.  I've always dreamt of running and competing with all the big dogs and being on the big screen in packed stadiums filled to the brim with supportive families.  My personal events are the 100 meter hurdles, 100 meter dash 4x100 meter relay , 200 meter dash, and the 4x200 meter relay.  I usually switch on and off between those 5 events for my meets.  My two favorite events that i personally enjoy the most and feel the most confident with are the 200 meter dash and the 100 meter hurdles.  I've always been one of the few or the only hurdler at my school, but it has allowed me to become closer with my coaches because of it.  I am a very outgoing and understanding athlete who is always willing to push past my own boundaries.  I am also very easy to work with.  I love seeing and meeting different coaches; while learning and adapting to new and different coaching techniques.  I am also very grateful to have been invited and to have gone to many different track camps, it gives me more experience in new techniques and it helps me grow as an athlete.  Please feel welcome to reach out or contact me if you have any more questions or want to learn more about me.  I would love to get to know my future coaches :).  Best of luck to everyone this season!  Hope to be hearing from some of you soon.
