Hi, my name is Raina Rice. I started running when I was 12 years old in middle school, and I knew I wanted to improve so I tried out for the Waukegan Invaders track club and made the team. I have run with the team for the past four years and I qualified 4 summers in a row for the USATF National Junior Olympics and AAU National Junior Olympics in the 800, 1500, 3000-meter runs, and I also competed in the 2000 Steeple Chase for the first time (2019) and Medaled during the AAU National Championships. I also love to run cross country and competed at the varsity level my freshman year accomplishing All-Conference and All-Regional honors.
My goal is to be part of a running team that is positive and is competitive enough to win in big venues. I take my sport very seriously and I have excellent workout habits. I train with my team and I also train in my spare time. I like to lead by example and motivate my teammates to do their best. I believe I would be a good fit for your school because I have experience competing against the best of the best around the country. I always give 100% not only in running but in my academics as well. As a Middle School Presidential Award Recipient, I made the honor-roll every quarter and my academic goal is to keep improving during my 4 years of high school.
