Personal Statement
My name is Michelle Barnvos and I love being a part of the track team and competing in shot put and discus. It is my goal to compete collegiality in my events (discus and shot put). I am a dual sport athlete in tennis and track and field. I train year round and take any opportunity to grow as an athlete. I learned to throw discus in the 6th grade and in 7th grade I leaned how to put the shot. In high school, I am focused on placing at the Illinois state finals and increasing my distances to become a competitive college thrower. In addition to athletics, I am very focused on my academics. I take several honors and AP classes. I have a GPA of 3.5 and in college I hope to go into nursing or physical therapy. Overall I have a great work ethic, I am teachable, and I am very goal oriented.
