2023 SpotlightGrowing up, I wasn’t considered athletic and dreaded gym class and most forms of physical activity. However, when I discovered running, through my mom who would jog every morning, I fell in love with it. In particular, I loved how I was in control of the outcome and how simple yet challenging it seemed. The only way for me to be able to run faster and longer was through practice that no one else would be able to do for me. I have grown to love the process of working hard and being able to reap such visible results. I am forever grateful that cross country and track & field gave me a work ethic that leaks into other areas of my life such as maintaining a gpa over 4.0. In addition, I am amazed by how uplifting and positive the running community is, whether that be my teammates, coaches, competitors and their coaches, or just people I see on the trails of my distance runs on at the track. I would be a great addition to your team because I am trainable, I am a team player, and I have a very strong work ethic.
