Freshman Highlights
Freshman year pol...Hey coach!
Thank you for considering me for your team, I think I would make a great addition. My main goal is to be at a school that will challenge me both in pole vault and academically. I am always determined to not only improve my familiar skills but also to try new things and improve new skills. I have a strong drive to be the best I can be at everything I do; I will take criticism and use it to motivate my progress. I am the oldest of three which has definitely taught me lessons in leadership, patience, and humility. Throughout my life these lessons have shaped me as a person in many ways; one of the biggest ways is my aspiration to be a good role model for my siblings, and to make my parents proud. Pole vault is one of the ways I can do that. I tried pole vault for the first time freshman year, I have had a passion for it ever since. I have learned a lot about myself through this sport, the most important thing being if you want something you have to work for it. It’s not going to be handed to you. Throughout my short pole vault career, there have been many obstacles, the hardest ones being limited practice time and missing out on an entire season. While these situations were hard, I have learned many valuable things about holding myself accountable for my own training and health, especially in the past couple months. I genuinely love this sport and will work harder than anyone to be the best I can be.
