My name is Julia Smith, and I am currently attending Indiana University East. I graduated in 2024 from Anderson Preparatory Academy, where I first started running track during my freshman year of high school. I am a very driven and hardworking athlete, and I bring that same determination into the classroom. I love participating in track because it allows me to compete against myself while also contributing to the success of a team. My passion for the sport has carried into the collegiate level, where I am proud to continue competing. Throughout high school, I received several honors, including the 2022 Rotary Sportsmanship Award for Anderson City Schools and the 2023 Athlete of Character for Madison County. I was also nominated to and graduated from the Youth Leadership Academy of Madison County and was a member of the National Honor Society. At IU East, I am majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. My goal is to become a criminal psychologist, where I can combine my love for helping others with my passion for justice and mental health.
