2024 SpotlightMy name is Ziona Ofori and I am a year 11 student equivalent to a sophomore at The Holy Cross school.I started running track in 2021 and fell in love with it to an extent where it has become a great passion in my life.I am quite a high achieving student on the track and in my academics pushing myself to my limits in everything that I do.I receive moderately high grades in all of my lessons.I am a very competitive athlete this helps me to develop my skills as I am always pushing myself to surpass athletes that I know are difficult opponents.I do a range of events but my main event is the 200 meter sprint with me being ranked 248th in the UK in the Under 17 age category in 2023 and my secondary event is the 100 metre sprint with me being ranked 281st in the Under 17 age category in 2023.I do also compete in some field events with me previously competing in shot and as of now competing in javelin I do this to develop my skills and overall make be a better athlete.Last year I went through an injury which majorly drained y confidence but I turned the lost confidence into determination to make sure that when I came back I would be a better athlete then I ever was before and because of this determination I am making major improvements and running at much faster speeds than I was the previous season.I would make an outstanding recruit for collages because I am able to efficiently balance track and school and I have the motivation ,determination and passion to be a great or even one of the greatest athletes
