2022 SpotlightI have been moving around my whole life. As a military kid, I have moved 12 times, and have lived overseas in Japan twice and Singapore twice. I started running in 6th grade, and found I loved the sport, and being on a team most of all. I had a great freshman year with running which gave me the genuine interest in running after high school. However, I have faced adversity in the past couple years due to lack of competition in Singapore, as well as a stress fracture which put me out of running for 6 months. I returned to the US my junior year, and was able to come back and get new PRs despite the break I had to take! I believe the break helped me come back more determined and more excited to put work into the sport I love as an upperclassman. There are many challenges that come with being a serious athlete, just like it is a challenge to move and adjust to a new place. In the future, I would be excited for the possibility of challenging myself and contributing to the success of a college track/xc team, and especially being involved in a strong academic program. Thank you for your interest!
