My main goals for college are to get a good degree to prepare myself for my future, to maintain my physical fitness, and to graduate and commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Army. I’ve been a lifelong athlete and I’ve been throwing discus for 5 years. I started just fronting it and even then as a 7th grader I threw further than any other person - male or female- in my school. By the end of my first season, I set a PR of 80ft. A great accomplishment for a 13 year old girl. When freshman year came, I continued to throw and eventually got to 104ft. But that wasn‘t good enough for me. In my sophomore season, I beat my own record every single meet and I went to 6A State and threw my past PR of 122’7 and got second. Looking back on my career I realize I’m not even close to 100% power. I haven’t even done proper weight training or technique training yet. At the 2021 Shawnee Mission North Relays I threw 136’10“. Most recently at the Kansas State Track meet, I got 1st place with a throw of 138’1”. I know that with proper coaching I can throw much further. If I got to opportunity to throw in college, I am confident I could be a great addition to the team.
