Hi! My name is Claire Langford. I am newer to long distance running, a converted tennis player and swimmer. I made varsity track my freshman year and then proceeded to join cross country my sophomore year. I really enjoy running with my team, the girls I run with are some of my best friends and my coaches are amazing. We love to have fun during hard workouts and our bond is undeniable. Some of my other extracurriculars include playing snare in the marching band, drumline captain, nonprofit volunteer coordinator for 3 local organizations, chemistry club, Girls on the Run Youth Advisory Board, swim team during the summers, National Honors Society, and more. As you can see, I am a very busy and involved highschooler, but academics and running are always my priority. I aspire to be a general or orthopedic surgeon with my undergraduate major in chemistry. As far as my training goes, I typically have around 50 mile weeks. My coach Rikki Hacker prioritizes threshold workouts such as longer tempos, fartleks, and Ks. I have a double workout once a week and my long run are usually anywhere from 9 to 12 miles. My top priority for college is academics but if I am able to run at that school as well, that would be amazing.
