Jasmine Benbow '09 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jasmine Benbow and I graduated from Henry E. Lackey High School in 2009. I have been competing in track for over 7 years. At first track was fun and games, but as I got older I realized that this was a serious sport and not a time to play around with friends. My first coach saw something in me while a member of the Ft. Belvoir Sonic Boom Track Team and began training me on an individual basis. When I ran the first time at the Prince Georges Sports and Learning Complex, I realized the changes in my form and times. Still to this day, I am working hard with a personal trainer (who is also my high school track team coach) that pushes me to be more competitive. My coach has said on many occasions that I have the right attitude for track. Personally, I enjoy a trainer that pushes me beyond my limit and can look you right in the face and say, "I knew you could do it". I am a leader and a team player with a 2.98 GPA looking for a college/university where I can be pushed athletically and academically.
