I'm Megan Andress and I'm currently a sophomore at Shepherd Hill High School. I've loved to run my entire life but began seriously when I joined the XC and track team at my school. I started my freshmen year running my 5k at 23:00 and finishing the season off at 20:20. My freshmen year mile PR was 6:00, my 800 PR 2:46, and my 400 PR 68 seconds. Now as a sophomore, my fastest 5k is a 19:45 and my fastest mile is a 5:50. This year I started running the 2 mile and my fastest time is 12:15. I also ran the 1000 in indoor and my time was 3:32. This season for outdoor I'll be running the 2-mile, mile, 800, 4x4, and 4x8. I might also compete in long jump.
This year I was the team captain for the XC team as only a sophomore. I was able to lead my team to success and watched as everyone greatly improved and was also able to recruit for XC and track. I work hard to recruit for my running teams at school like designing recruiting flyers in hopes to get new runners. I put my best effort at every meet and practice and I'm in constant communication with my coaches. I help my teammates follow a long and encourage them to keep trying.
