Megan Andress '26 Recruiting Profile

Hi! I'm Megan Andress and I'm an upcoming senior at Shepherd Hill Regional High School in Dudley, MA. My whole life I have loved to run and compete, and it has been my goal to make it onto a college xc/track team that will continue to help me improve in the sport I love the most. During my junior year XC season, I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation and scarring of the colon. It made me very sick and in a lot of pain and I cut my xc season short and took a 3 month-long break before getting back into running during indoor. I'm still struggling to get back to where I was as an athlete as I keep developing minor injuries, such as recently getting diagnosed with patellofemoral pain syndrome, preventing me from running at my best. But these situations have taught me why I love running so much and have given me a new perspective of the sport. While my season this whole year has been my worst yet, I still show up every day for practice to work towards improvement. I still show up to every meet, even if I'm not running, to cheer on my teammates because I'd want them to do the same for me.

I'm looking to major in either journalism or communications/public relations. I hope to find a college that will help me thrive.
