Personal Statement
Hello, I am Alex Lusby and I am finishing my Sophomore year at Medfield Highschool located in Massachusetts. Running is something that connects me to my school and my peers in a different way than sitting in a classroom. I love to run distance especially the mile and the 800 but I also run the 400 sometimes and have run the 2 miles a few times! Over this past year, my 4x800 team and I had the pleasure of breaking our school's indoor record! Outside of running, I like to be involved in my school and take part in many clubs and extracurriculars. Such as student government, Best Buddies, Model UN and I am apart of the board at a company that furnishes homes and apartments for people coming out of poverty. I also teach swim lessons when I am not running or studying. Although our spring season is gone I have continued my training to ensure that I can lower my times junior year. Putting in the work in on the track is something I stand by because the harder you work the more you can achieve. I am very interested in studying sports medicine or psychology and I have had the pleasure of shadowing my Athletic Trainer over the past year in a very hands-on way being on the sidelines and giving athletes treatments before and after games. Running is a true passion for me and I love the sport and would love to continue to compete at a higher collegiate level past high school while continuing my academic journey!
